"Actor Daniel Wu, performed amazing physical acts with the aid of a Hong Kong wire stunt team. He handled everything I asked for perfectly and enjoyed all the stunt action also! Several of the shots required him to jump so high that he nearly touched the Studio ceiling!" commented Director Karl Von Moller.
Dentsu Beijing's Creative Director Hiroshi Yoda explained what he was looking for in the ad "What I asked for from Karl & Damien was a film that had never been seen in China before with a message that was easy to understand for the people of China. And they did it in an amazing and smart way."
Prior to shoot BMD prepared a rough animation of the turning pages to give production a sense of timing for the various scenes which BMD Senior Editor Tammy Quah also used this to select final takes from the live shoot to best fit the animation. Post production saw the BMD VFX team build various models including the Camcorder, an EOS 5D MKII and even a highly detailed 3D body double of Daniel Wu himself, explains BMD 3D Director Vincent Yoe,
"The initial brief was to use simple 2D graphics of both the LEGRIA HF20 and EOS 5D MKII, Damien and I decided though that building 3D models would make the spot far more compelling and allow us to create more dynamic and interesting camera moves. Also, in order to achieve a smooth camera move around Daniel we built a CG body double of him and used images of Daniel that Karl shot from multiple perspectives as texture maps."
